Manchester United have found the replacement of Casemiro within the club

Manchester United

Few players boast of having a lucrative career with impressive success in European competition. The former Real Madrid player Casemiro made a shocking move to Manchester United under manager Erik Ten Hag. Arguably the best defensive midfielder of 2022 was the first player to be taken in the red side of Manchester. A player like Casemiro, having over five Champions League medals to his name definitely introduced a new form of mentality to the Manchester United locker room. He even established himself at the club with his experience in the defensive midfield. The Brazilian in his debut season was often seen performing better than Manchester City’s Rodri. However, the Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat came in the same season as a backup to Casemiro. Amrabat started the FA Cup final, and his excellent performance gives him an edge over the Brazilian to start regularly in the next season.

Moroccan international as the potential successor?

Casemiro always never found his desired position in the Old Trafford since his move from Bernabeu. But he tried his best to adjust to any role given to him. There was a significant lack of game time in the 23/24 season for the player who isn’t getting any younger. He is also among the highest earners in the club. Casemiro’s departure is crucial for the team’s financial management. Amrabat, on the other hand, is a younger gun and the maturation of his loan spell can prove demanding for the team. Although Amrabat had suffered a lot and took time to settle in, unlike the Brazilian. It is, however, only pragmatic to choose someone like Amrabat for the long run. As a matter of fact, the Moroccan was one of the best players in the World Cup. This garnered him huge demands in the transfer market soon after the competition.

Many clubs have shown interest in Amrabat recently after his performance against Manchester City, where he scored a goal in the final. Manchester United remains the favorite to sign him, with the clause adding to his loan spell from Fiorentina and allowing them to buy him permanently for only 21.4 Million euros. The board under Ratcliffe and Ineos, with the probable appointment of Dan Ashworth, will soon go through a team rebuild. This gives them enough opportunity in the market to look for replacements and backups for the current squad. A squad that did not have enough impressive and league-worthy performances finished 8th. Certain players have already confirmed they are leaving, while the club will sell others. In the meantime it is advisable to look for replacements within the club who have a sense of determination and use the potential of Academy graduates.

Where does Casemiro’s fate lie ahead of Manchester United?

As far as concern lies for Casemiro, he has already won everything in Europe. With interesting offers lurking around the corner from Saudi Arabia, he could definitely consider it a worthy option. While he still has few years to deliver in top form, a player like him could be useful for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, where they are also looking for a player in the defensive midfield. Most certainly, the option of returning to home town in Brazil always remains open.
