Mark Goldbridge left infuriated by Manchester United amidst new managerial update

Manchester United

Mark Goldbridge has publicly spoken about the ‘unprofessionalism’ of Manchester United amidst the news of change in management. According to Fabrizio Romano, United have approached agents of 3-4 managers in recent days in an attempt to replace Erik Ten Hag.

Following a poor season, Ten Hag’s position as United boss is under scrutiny. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are considering Ten Hag’s overall stint at the Old Trafford before making a final call.

Although the Dutchman had a decent first season with the Red Devils, the same isn’t true for this campaign. The Red Devils finished the Premier League with 60 points on 8th position. United had never ended the league as low before in their entire Premier League history.

Ten Hag’s managerial record: A trophy winner!

Ten Hag’s managerial career took off with Go Ahead Eagles in the Eerste Divisie in 2012. The Dutchman was able to lead his side to their first promotion in 17 years in his only season with Go Ahead Eagles.

The 54-year old went on to become the Head Coach of Bayern II in 2013. Ten Hag was successful in taking Bayern II to the Regionalliga Bayern in his two year stint at Bavaria.

Followingly, the Dutchman moved to being the Head Coach and Sporting Director of Utrecht in 2015. Ten Hag led Utrecht to the KNVB Cup Final in 2016 where they came up short against Feyenoord. However, Utrecht were able to qualify for the UEFA Europa League in the following season under Ten Hag.

Ten Hag went on to sign for Ajax in December 2017. Thereafter, the Dutchman’s tactics reaped great rewards. Ten Hag would coach Ajax in their exceptional 2018-19 season guiding them to a UEFA Champions League Semi Final where they would narrowly miss out due to Lucas Moura’s heroics.

However, Ten Hag garnered plenty of silverware with Ajax. The Dutchman would go on to win 3 Eredivisie titles, 2 KNVB Cups and the Johan Cruyff Shield with Ajax.

The 54-year old would finally find his way to Old Trafford in April 2022. The Red Devils would finish 3rd under Ten Hag’s guidance and won their first major trophy in the form of EFL Cup since 2017. Additionally, Ten Hag would guide United to the FA Cup final against Manchester City in the same season.

Moreover, the Dutchman would also win the FA Cup in his second season and secure a Europa League spot for the Red Devils in a classic revenge against bitter rivals Manchester City.

Mark Goldbridge upset with Manchester United management!

Despite United’s calamitous season many including Goldbridge believe that the Red Devils may not be treating Ten Hag fairly.

In Ten Hag’s defense, the Dutchman barely had the squad he wanted to play all season. Absentees due to injury would prolong throughout the season. The 54-year old would play with reserves and alternatives to alternatives in his lineup. And in the game that mattered, with the players he wanted, Ten Hag produced against the record Premier League champions.

However, INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are not ready to overlook the entire two seasons on the basis of one good game. The United management have urged Ten Hag to wait over as a decision over the 54-year old’s future is cemented.

Mark Goldbridge did not hold back expressing his discontentment over managing of Manchester United. Goldbridge wrote on his X:

“Really sickening how the club is being run. Embarrassing, unprofessional, indecisive, disrespectful and not representative of the vast majority of the fans how they’re dealing with this. Shame.”

A series of changes at the Theatre of Dreams are bound to happen. Fans desperately await for clarification over the next couple of days as the summer transfer window unfolds.
