Mauricio Pochettino have reportedly told his friends that he is interested in the Chelsea job if it is offered to him. Pochettino has been out of a job since he left PSG back in the 2021/22 season. The Argentine departed from the club after he failed to win the Champions League trophy with the star-studded PSG team. PSG reached the semifinals and round of 16 under Mauricio Pochettino before getting knocked out by Manchester City and Real Madrid respectively. Mauricio Pochettino already had a good spell in the Premier League. The 50-year-old had managed Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. He has been linked with other Premier Leagues since last year.

Mauricio Pochettino was also linked with Manchester United back in the summer before they appointed Erik Ten Hag. The Argentine was also considered by Aston Villa before they replace Steven Gerrard with Unai Emery. Pochettino decided against joining Aston Villa as he feared that the players won’t suit his playing style. Chelsea on the other hand could be an option for him if the offer comes. Chelsea have already changed their manager once this season. Thomas Tuchel was sacked and was replaced by Graham Potter. Though the former manager had a good start at the club but it soon came to an end after they failed to register a win in the league before the World Cup. They were also knocked out of Carabao Cup by Manchester City. It has been reported that Boehly is growing alarmed by the Englishman’s poor results.

Potter could lose his job if this continues after the World Cup. Pochettino have informed his friends that are keen on taking up the Chelsea job. He seems interested in the job and seems to be pushing for it behind the scenes. As of now, nothing is set in stone and everything will depend on the Englishman’s performance after the World Cup.
