Mazinho want his son to play for his former club Celta Vigo

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara’s father Mazinho want his elder son to play for his former club Celta Vigo after his contract expires next season.

The 32-year-old joined Liverpool back in 2020 from Bayern Munich. Thiago showed his wizardry at middle of the park for the Mersyside club but fatigue has been a serious issue for him.

The Spaniard didn’t take part in pre-season tour of this campaign due to a hip problem which required surgery. However, Thiago’s addition will provide a huge boost up for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.

Thiago has been also linked with a move to Saudi this summer, but his father Mazinho now admits that he want his elder son to return to his father’s boyhood club Celta Vigo. He said( via Mundo Deportivo) :-

“In football you never know.

“I hope so [that he can sign for Celta] but at the moment it is very complicated because Thiago has another dimension and another lifestyle.

“But I wish Thiago could come here. Almost all the memories I have from here are very good. Vigo is our home.

His youngest son Raphinha also played for Vigo, as he further stated :-

“Rafinha has had the opportunity to come here later to play two seasons… for the whole family, Celta means our home.”

Mazinho was a world class professional footballer during his time.as he won World Cup with Brazil back in 1994. The Brazilian made over 110 apperances for Celta Vigo over a four year spell.

The former legend want his elder son to experience the love and compassion from the Celta fans.
