Newcastle United transfer target showing no development

Newcastle

This season was a tough one for Newcastle United. They unluckily crashed out of Europe after playing in the UEFA Champions League. Newcastle United managed to beat Paris Saint Germain at their home with 4-0 scoreline. Their performances impressed the fans after being in the group of death. After having a great start to their season their squad also suffered some major injuries.

Players like Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron all suffered some major injuries. They also played a majority of season without both key centre-backs Sven Botman and club captain Jamaal Lascelles. They were hit with another big blow after their star player Sandro Tonali was suspended by FA for eight months due to betting allegations. All these events meant Eddie Howe has to make some big moves in the upcoming transfer window. However the luck is not on their side after lack of interest from Newcastle United transfer target.

Newcastle United will be in a tough spot during the transfer window. According to new Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules of the Premier League the club will have to sell some players. This means that the club cannot make new signings without player sales. The club cannot use their other revenue streams for transfer business and there will be a spending cap. This rule has made the situation more difficult for Newcastle United as they are already struggling to keep their key players.

Their star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has a £100million release clause till the end of June. This increase the risk of the player being snatched away by any big club with Manchester City interested in the Brazilian. Newcastle United are now being forced to wait patiently as their transfer target Tosin Adarabioyo is still unsure of his next club. Now the club will have to wait.

Newcastle United transfer target Tosin Adarabioyo still in working

Newcastle United are hoping to bring in Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, and were confident of doing a deal late last week. Their hope was to conclude negotiations before the FA Cup final, but that has been and gone without an agreement. This has also led to other clubs showing interest in the defender with Chelsea and Manchester United interested. This has led to difficult situation for Newcastle United, who are looking to sign two Premier League level defenders for free.

While the Lloyd Kelly deal, who is another transfer target, still appears to be possible for the club, same cannot be said regarding Tosin‘s next destination. The player wants to assess his options before signing for any club. Tosin will soon become a free agent which is surely to attract lot of interest from different clubs.

According to HITC Football insider, Graeme Bailey, on Newcastle’s pursuit of Tosin is still in process.

It’s still ongoing,” he said.

Newcastle are pushing. A couple of deadlines have been and gone. I think they are a bit frustrated. They want it done – obviously signing these two lads [Tosin and Lloyd Kelly] on frees is quite a big part of their summer plans. There’s only so much pressure Newcastle can put on. They’ve been pretty confident about signing him, but it’s a week since the FA Cup final and nothing is done.

He also believes that signing for Newcastle United can be less lucrative for the player after links with Chelsea and Manchester United. Even though Newcastle United can give him first team football, the benefits of joining a bigger club are unmatched. Newcastle United who are already desperate to make signings in the defense area will make to make their decision quickly. In case the deal is off they should continue to look for alternative.
