Plethora of offers rain down for Liverpool star

Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Saudi pro League has matured, many European top-class players are following in his footsteps. It is no wonder that several Saudi clubs are interested in Liverpool star goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The Brazilian goalkeeper joined Liverpool in 2018 from AS Roma and replaced Simon Mignolet quite swiftly. He has made over 260 appearances for the club, with over 200 appearances in the Premier League itself. His ability to be a sweeper-keeper has helped Klopp immensely with the success of English giants in the last eight years. Alisson boasts a goal to his name too, a feat achieved by very few keepers in the English top flight. He has made a household name for himself and is also the primary choice for the Brazil national team. With offers trying to lure him away from Liverpool, Alisson is interested and open to hearing the tempting opportunities from Saudi.

Is Saudi the Right Destination for Alisson after Liverpool?

Although Saudi can be an interesting destination for players who have turned 30, leaving little game time. It is arguably not the right place for the Liverpool keeper. In general, goalkeepers have a long reign and can perform better than outfield players, even in their late 30s. Van Der Sar is a prime example of this, whose most impressive form was in the later half of his career. Alisson just turned 31 and money might not be the only reason for his interest in other clubs. Some reports claim that he is open to a few clubs in Europe too, where he can be appropriate. His intentions on leaving Anfield might be due to Jurgen Klopp stepping down from the management. Alisson always admired the geggenpressing style of football, and with Arne Slots arrival, there might be a need for adjustment.

Allison does want some reliability, and being the first choice of both club and country, it is possible that he might end up staying at Merseyside before making any decisions. The fans love and admire him. It is inevitable that the Brazilian keeper will be replaced anytime soon. Caoimhin Kelleher, the backup keeper, is always there to fill in the games if the Brazilian wants to take a few months of rest. However, it is doubtful that Allison would get the same comfort and teamwork elsewhere.

Reliable reports on the Brazilian’s position in the club

According to Rudy Galleti, the keeper “prefers to stay in” , but he is also “open to listening to the proposal.”

Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano mentioned in his tweet;

“Understand Liverpool are planning with Alisson as part of their squad for next season despite Saudi links. There were approaches from Saudi clubs in March but nothing advanced, concrete so far.Alisson and Liverpool’s priority is to continue together.”

After this report, it is highly unlikely for the Liverpool keeper to leave the team anytime soon. The tempting offers might flow, but they would end up being really ineffective. At least for the next two to three years, Alisson is here to stay.
