Romano claims Caicedo completed his medical at Chelsea

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Moises Caicedo is now close to joining Chelsea this summer as he completes medical at London.

Liverpool were whiskers away from completing the move last week but Chelsea hijacked at the very last moment. The Equadorian International agreed personal terms with Blues months ago.

Romano now posted on Twitter/X about Caicedo’s latest update after Chelsea made their intentions clear and finally signed their long-term target. The Italian Journalist wrote :-

“Moisés Caicedo has just completed the main part of his medical tests started around 9am UK time.

“#CFCNow time to sign the contract as new Chelsea player until June 2031 with an option until 2032.”

First, Liverpool agreed on Brighton’s asking price £111 million but Chelsea outbid them and tabled £115 million offer to win the race. Meanwhile, Blues also agreed personal terms with Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia as they agreed to pay £50 million plus add-ons.

Klopp’s team is in peculiar situation currently after both their targets joined Rival Premier club in this summer transfer window. Some new reports suggests that situation around the Mersyside club is quite melancholic currently.

Southampton’s Lavia was the most suitable options for Reds in this campaign. The Belgian would have been a perfect replacement for departed players such as Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

Both the teams clashed in Premier League season’s opening day fixture at Stanford Bridge. The match ended in a 1:1 draw as both Luis Diaz and Axel Disasi scored the goals for their respective teams in Sunday.
