Romeo Lavia is close to joining Liverpool this summer – Ben Jacobs

Despite lots of speculation, Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia is just whiskers away from joining Liverpool this summer.

According to Journalist Ben Jacobs, Mersyside club is confident to sign the Belgian midfielder. The progress has slowed down bit in last fews days.

Liverpool made two bids for Lavia in last few weeks for bringing him to Anfield before the start of the new Premier league campaign. However, Reds remain optimistic about the deal as the 19-year-old can become the third signing after Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Jacobs claims that Liverpool are playing it smart :-

“Liverpool are reliant on the fact that they’re got player buy-in and now it’s about what deal they can get done for under £50m and how much under £50m, because when Liverpool don’t see value, they tend to walk away.

“But in this case, they believe they can get a deal done on their terms and things are progressing. So this one stands a very realistic possibility now of getting done.”

Manchester City manager praised Lavia and termed as an “incredible” player. The Southampton man is now inching closer and closer to a move to Liverpool this summer.

This Premier League season will be an important one for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they fell short of qualifying for Champions League football last term. Reds wants to be fully prepared for all the forthcoming challenges this season.

Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia has all attributes to become a mainstay of Liverpool’s midfield in the coming years. He might be the last part of the jigsaw puzzle for manager Jurgen Klopp this summer.
