Sky Sports gives major update on Liverpool’s position in Romeo Lavia deal

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Seth gives major update on Liverpool’s current position in Romeo Lavia deal in this summer transfer window.

Journalist claims that things may get ‘interesting’ as rival Premier League club might enter the race for the 19-year-old. Liverpool’s initial bid was rejected by Southampton last month and as per Seth’s report, Chelsea could now give strong competition to the Mersyside club.

Reds are now chasing to sign a defensive midfielder this summer, after both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho left the club. Both the club legends are going to play in Saudi League this season.

With lots of rumours spreading around the footballing media, Sky Sports Journalist Dharmesh Seth gives update of the current situation :-

“This is getting interesting because Chelsea still hold a strong interest in the Southampton midfielder.

“Personal terms not expected to be a problem, as they’re not expected to be a problem with Liverpool.“Chelsea have not made a formal bid yet. Liverpool are the ones making the running as far as the bids are concerned.

“They had a £40m bid rejected last week, they’re expected to go back in with an improved offer, but they will face competition we think from Chelsea.”

Chelsea will be a strong contender for Lavia, as per Sky Sports

Blues are also looking for a player of same profile as Liverpool. Chelsea already struggled to sign Moises Caicedo this summer, hence Lavia has been identified as a potential replacement.

However, Fabrizio Romano now claims that Liverpool have submitted a new offer worth £42 million, but the Italian suggests that Southampton might reject the bid. Saints are adamant on their £50m asking price.
