Yuzvendra Chahal isn’t a part of T20 world cup 2021. Yuzi has performed throughout all the matches except few. And he was one of the most important wicket-taker for RCB this year again in IPL. But with the rising talents in Indian Team every year, selections have gotten more challenging. Thus it was a tough decision for Kohli to drop Yuzi from the tournament.

Competition is increasing with every matches coming on the way. Though, Virat Kohli admitted that dropping a performer like Yuzvendra Chahal was a tought decision. But this gave Rahul Chahar the opportunity as the leg-spinner lack of pace off the surface on the slow pitch of UAE would certainly help. Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly in IPL 2021.

Why Chahar replaced Chahal in T20 World Cup 2021?

Virat Kohli shares his thought on the decision of dropping Yuzvendra Chahal from the Indian Team for T20 world cup 2021 and says-

“It was a challenging call but we decided to back Rahul Chahar for a reason that he has bowled amazingly well in the last couple of seasons and a guy who bowls with pace,”

Yuzi has been an important wicket-taker for the team India for years. Chahal got recognition first from Royal Challengers Bangalore because of his consistent performance in every match in every year. But with time more players started coming and they are also trying their best to get the chance for a bigger platform to perform their skills. Though it was challenging to replace Chahal with Chahar but it could be one of the best decisions for team India in the T20 world cup 2021 already.

Meanwhile, India will take on Pakistan in their first clash to kick off their T20 World Cup 2021 journey.
