Chelsea already spent about 100M in the summer transfer market bringing some new faces at Stamford Bridge. So, the Blues wants to sign a new French striker Elye Wahui from Lens in this summer transfer window.
Since the takeover of the Chelsea football club by BlueCo, Todd Boehly already spent a huge amount of money to bring the best young talents in the world of football. This season is also no different. Chelsea already spent more than 100M in this transfer window, brought already 6 players including Tosin Adrabayo from Fulham, Estevao from Palmeiras, Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa, Marc Guiu from Barcelona, Kierman Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester and Renato Veiga from Basel. Chelsea are looking for a new striker in this summer. The Blues also linked with Napoli star Victor Osimhen previously to bring the Nigerian to Stamford Bridge. But still no green flags from Seria’s side Napoli. So the Blues keep looking for new strikers in the transfer market. Will Elye Wahi join Chelsea this summer?
According to Chelsea news, the Blues previously linked with Elye Wahi, but the transfer did not happen as Chelsea reflected the transfer. However, now the Blues want to sign him, as the Frenchman is showing huge potential.
Elye Wahi started his football career with French side Montpellier. In 2019, Ely Wahi signed a professional contract with Montpellier. Since then the 21-year-old spent his time with Montpellier before moving to Lens last season. Wahi made 92 appearances for Montpellier and scored 32 goals during that time. Last season the Frenchman appeared 36 times for Lens, scored 12 goals, and registered 4 assists across all competitions. Wahi’s performance at the club level earned him a position in the France squad for Olympic 2024. Chelsea keeps chasing this young talent and could sign him in the summer.
According to the report of LโEquipe, Chelsea also enquired about the Frenchman’s availability and the price that the Blues have to pay to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Chelsea fans are eager to see this young talent playing for Chelsea. But the Blues could send the 21-year-old to a loan spell before making him a starting lineup player for Chelsea. Chelsea already have huge numbers of Strkers in their current squad including Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, David Fofana, Armando Broja, Christopher Nkunku, and Romelu Lukaku. Getting a string lineup spot under new manager Enzo Maresca will be a taught job for Elye Wahi. The Blues previously sent their young talents to another French side Strasbourg which comes under the chain of BlueCo club ownership, so they could send this young talent to that club also.

Chelsea is now on the preseason tour in the United States. The Blues will start their pre-season campaign with Wrexham on 25th July. Then, Enzo Maresca’s side will start their Premier League campaign with Premier League champion Manchester City after the complexion of Pre-season on August 18. The Blues want to bring some of the best talents before the staring of the new season.
