Leandro Trossard & Gabriel Jesus Might Leave Arsenal in January

Arsenal FC

Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard are next in line to leave Arsenal during the winter transfer window in January. Both these players were in the verge of leaving Arsenal this summer, but the club later decided to keep them until January. While Leandro Trossard sometime gets a little bit of match-time, Gabriel Jesus has already become an ‘unwanted’ investment at the club. But things were different in just two years back. Gabriel Jesus signed for Arsenal from Manchester City as the main striker of the team. On the other hand, Belgian Trossard became a key player for Arsenal during his early days at the club.

Leandro Trossard is Still Hanging on Somehow

Arsenal fans used to consider Leandro Trossard as a long-term project at their club. But it didn’t last long. The Belgian soon lost his place to Gabriel Martinelli. The former KRK Genk youth footballer made his first big club switch when he signed for Brighton back in the 2018-19 season. During his time at Brighton, Trossard registered 25 goals and 15 assists in 121 matches. Then, in the 2022-23 season, Leandro Trossard signed for Arsenal. His first two seasons were fantastic no doubt. At that time Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard both used to be the main team starters for the Gunners. Trossard’s ability to make the wide runs through the left flanks and provide pinpoint crosses became a key way of converting goals. Now, with this inclusion of Noni Madueke, Trossard has surely lost his place in the starting lineup. In July, he was so close to joining German giants Bayern Munich. But the club signed Luis Diaz from Liverpool instead. Just before the end of this ‘eventful’ transfer window, Arsenal have squashed the links between Trossard and Turkish club Besiktas. The club from Turkey had offered 22 million for the Belgian international. While the player was hoping for this move, Arsenal confirmed his stay until the start of the winter transfer window.

What has Gone Wrong for Gabriel Jesus Also?

Things are quite same for Arsenal’s Brazilian forward, Gabriel Jesus also. The player signed for Arsenal from Manchester City back in the summer of 2022. Before joining Arsenal, Jesus had a very good career stat at Manchester City. In 236 appearances as a Citizen, the Brazilian international logged 95 goals and 45 assists. After becoming a Gunner, he scored 11 goals in his very first season for Arsenal. At that time, Gabriel Jesus was regarded as the solution to the box striker crisis at Arsenal. But since then, he has failed to deliver. Due to his serious long-term injury, Gabriel Jesus barely reached double figures. Right now, Jesus is in the process of his rehabilitation. If he becomes match fit before the start of the winter transfer window in January, Arsenal have decided to sell him at a reasonable price this time. With the high-profile addition of Viktor Gyokeres, Jesus also feels that he has no chance of regaining his place in the starting lineup. He is still trying to get back on the field as soon as possible. So, just like Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus will most probably part ways with Arsenal.

What’s Next for Trossard and Gabriel Jesus Now?

Both Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard must revive their professional careers. Trossard still has played a match as a substitute this season. Although he only got to play for 15 minutes. On the other hand, Jesus is yet to get back on the pitch. But Arsenal will most likely sell them out somehow. All eyes are on these two players now. Mikel Arteta feels that his current team has got much better than the last few years now. So, he is confident in letting go of them.
