However, he builds a record that has him amongst one of the most successful managers in the history of English top-flight football. The game got the fans to recover from the “scars” left behind for the last two seasons, where West Ham managed to register a victory on their visit to the Emirates and derail Arsenal’s title ambition.
A Costly Triumph
Although the scoreline was more than comfortable, there could be a price to pay for the victory. Captain Martin รdegaard was withdrawn after only 30 minutes following a knee-to-knee clash in what has been an injury ravaged campaign for the creative playmaker. Post-match, Arteta would say that things were “not positive.”
In the final moments, goal-scorer Declan Rice also requested a substitution due to back pain. An alarming sign for a player known for his strength in injuries adding to an increasing injury list for the Gunners. However, he will be tested depth-wise in a busy schedule of matches.

Since now is the intermission break, there is a much needed rest for all the players. Fulham go into the league match against Arsenal on the 18th of October. They will certainly be looking to have their key men fully fit and fired up following a strong start. As of now, the table should still look fine from an Arsenal fan’s perspective. They would be dreaming that this early lead could turn into a steady tilt for the crown.
