N’Golo Kante and Speculations surrounding him

Ex-English international and former Man Utd defender Rio Ferdinand has something to say about speculations surrounding Kante’s future at Chelsea. According to him, Liverpool should approach with a potential offer to sign N’Golo Kante.

This comes after Liverpool’s loss against Real Madrid in the champions league. Thiago’s injury and an aging factor of Henderson and Milner have left Kloop’s squad with very less squad depth. Partnering Thiago’s magic with Kante’s work ethic accompanied by a strong CDM like Fabinho can get the midfield up and running.

Kante and his future

Kante and his future has been a source of volatile speculation over the past couple of weeks. It’ll be the first time when the midfielder’s future at Stamford Bridge looks uncertain after six years of loyal service.

Many reports have linked the Ten Hag’s Man Utd with the French international as someone to improve his midfield. Interest from Ten Hag is yet to be confirmed as during transfer windows Man Utd gets linked with many players.

The French international will be out of contract within the next 12 months and a lot. The midfielder’s injury problems are a cause for concern both for him and also for the club. His absence is a contributing reason in Chelsea’s poor performance even after deserving european glory the past season.

Jorginho has a higher chance to leave Chelsea but it’s highly unlikely Tuchel will let the French CDM leave. Kante includes a lot of tackles and interceptions which at times can cause some serios injuries. For a work horse like him, it’s very unlikely he can avoid them.

Tuchel hasn’t been able to rely on the French midfielder in the past season due to the 31-year-old’s persistent fitness problems, which would be a potential issue for any suitor this summer.

Rio Ferdinand’s admiration for Kante

The English international reckons Liverpool FC’s midfield is missing a player like Kante. On his youtube channel Rio said,

Kante found the back of the net 13 times in his 260 appearances across all formats of the game. He has spent six years at Stamford Bridge in which he won the league title, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup, and the Club World Cup.

However, this season Kante was plagued with injury and managed only 21 starts for Chelsea. The world cup is just a few months away and Kante to step up and make things right.
