Alejandro Garnacho reacts to Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United stay

Alejandro Garnacho is one of the many elated as INEOS confirms to continue with Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United. Ten Hag was under scrutiny after having a disastrous campaign with the Red Devils.

The Manchester Reds would end the Premier League on a historic low securing 8th place. Moreover, United would concede 58 goals alone in the league finishing the campaign with a -1 goal difference. Ten Hag’s men would remain inconsistent throughout the season and draw heavy defeats at the hands of unlikely oppositions.

However, United would end the season on a positive note thanks to a Ten Hag masterclass. The Dutchman led United to a 2-1 victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup final. Additionally, the 54-year old would secure Europa League qualification along with the clinching of silverware.

Consequently, INEOS would be in a conundrum upon deciding Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford. On the one hand, the Red Devils were inconsistent and a disaster at the back. On the other hand, Ten Hag would salvage the season with bare minimum and win United another trophy.

After days of speculation, INEOS finally confirmed Ten Hag as United manager for the upcoming campaign. Moreover, the Red Devils are holding talks with Ten Hag over an extension with only one year remaining in the Dutchman’s contract.

Is Ten Hag the right man for United?

Despite being confirmed as the new manager, Ten Hag could have been on his way out easily. INEOS were seriously considering alternatives to the 54-year old.

Ipswich Town’s Kieran Mckenna was in contention for the role. However, Mckenna decided to extend his stay with Ipswich after having helped them to a place in the Premier League. German manager Thomas Tuchel was another possible candidate having been in-charge of Bayern Munich in the previous campaign.

Additionally, Mauricio Pochettino was also in-line for the managerial role. Pochettino led Chelsea to a 6th place finish in the Premier League. Furthermore, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi was another potential replacement. However, many believe that De Zerbi and Pochettino wouldn’t have been any massive improvements over Ten Hag.

In many aspects, Ten Hag is the right man for United given the circumstances. The Dutchman won the Red Devils their first major trophy in 6 years in the 22/23 season. Moreover, he would also become the first United manager since legendary Sir Alex Ferguson to win 2 trophies in consecutive years for the Red Devils.

Additionally, he saw United through with an injury inflicted roster. Furthermore, Ten Hag would put faith in young players and make way for talents like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Ten Hag has really managed to develop a good bond with the youngsters at United.

However, the Dutchman had to be patient with INEOS over clarification of management. Since the decision, Ten Hag is said to be happy with INEOS and INEOS trust Ten Hag to continue fostering young players.

Alejandro Garnacho backs Ten Hag at United

Alejandro Garnacho rose through the ranks and established himself as a starter at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag. Garnacho didn’t particularly outspoke of Ten Hag’s stay. However, many Red Devils supporters have noticed Garnacho liking a post about supporting Ten Hag’s stay.

The Argentine went on to make 50 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season. Another exemplary individual who has risen under Ten Hag is Kobbie Mainoo. Both teenagers have put impressive performances for the Red Devils this season.

Moreover, INEOS will be exempting both of them from the transfer market this summer. Mainoo and Garnacho will be key players for United in the next campaign.
