Arsenal Form A Triple-Front Charge Built on Squad Depth

Arsenal FC are building fantastic form as they continue in the 2025/26 season. This rings out a pleasing sequence of five wins, and one draw from their last six matches in all competitions. This very good form has kept them alive on three fronts. The Premier League and the UEFA Champions League where they’ve maintained a perfect record in two matches.

Perfect Start in Europe

Confidence is high for the team. They came back from the north east of England last weekend with a stunning 2-1 away victory against Newcastle United. They earned the win through a stoppage-time winner from Gabriel Magalhães. The gritty win against Newcastle was quickly followed by a 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium midweek in the Champions League against Olympiacos.

The win in Europe was not pretty—certainly not as pleasing on the eye as a full-throated 9-0 victory against Bournemouth last season. But Arsenal showed that they can battle for results when attacking play is stagnant. Arsenal opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from Gabriel Martinelli. They sealed three points in the stoppage time with. The ever-important second goal came from substitute Bukayo Saka. Moreover, Arsenal in form goalkeeper David Raya preserved the clean sheet. He made a stunning one-handed save from close range on 90 minutes.

Strong in Domestic Standing

One of the key aspects has been captain Martin Ødegaard being back at his peak fitness. Manager Mikel Arteta is calling the Norwegian midfielder ‘phenomenal’ and has afforded him to play with ‘total freedom.’ Ødegaard was named man of the match against Olympiacos creating numerous chances as well as registering the assist for Bukayo Saka’s late stoppage time winner. This level of consistent performance has raised the club to 4th on the Premier League table with 13 points from 6 games and an excellent goal difference of +9. The only defeat domestically this season was a narrow 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, from a wonderful late free-kick.

Additionally, the Gunners’ substantial summer recruitment is producing results, giving Arteta a depth of quality that enhances the whole squad. Substitutes have constantly had an influence, as seen in Europe in the game where Martinelli and Trossard made an instant impact when subbed on. The new recruit Eze also came in utilization in a prominent role off the bench. A healthy Ødegaard adds a creative brilliance in addition to the talented roster, providing a foundation for success down the stretch of the season.
