Barcelona Marc Casado Future in Doubt Amid Shake-Up

FC Barcelona

Barcelona is looking to make some key decisions in the active summer transfer window. These includes signings, departures and more. However, to sign new players they would have to be careful about their financial situation. Departures are needed in order to create space in team as well as raise money. In this case, Barcelona are looking to sell their Defensive Midfielder Marc Casado this summer. The 20 year old Midfielder from Spain has attracted a lot of interest and could be leaving Barcelona soon.

Barcelona Selling Marc Casado ?

The 20 year old academy graduate from Barcelona could be on the move this year. Although he was seen as a future starter for the club but now offers for him might change the situation. This Move is very important as he is current captain of Barca Atletic and also a symbol of Barcelona’s Academy.

According to reports from Spain, Many Spanish Clubs and German Clubs have shown huge interest to sign him. Meanwhile, Barca would not be open to sell him. However, if a good offer comes they might be ready to let him go. In this case, an offer around €50-60 million is expected to meet the club’s expectation.

Barcelona’s Director Deco has said, “We value Marc highly, but we also have to make smart decisions. The club’s needs and Marc’s development are both important factors.” Also Head Coach Hansi Flick has said that, “Casado is a fantastic young player with a strong mentality, but the competition in midfield is intense. If a move helps his growth, we’ll support it.”

Barcelona Stance: Marc Casado situation

Barcelona’s Stance tells us about their financial situation. They would prefer to keep Casado at the club. However, due to financial issue they would have to make some hard decisions. Also, they have alot of Midfield players who can play the role of Casado. Therefore, his chances of getting a start are less.

According to a senior club source at Barcelona, “We have to balance promoting talent with ensuring there’s a clear path forward. Marc has excelled at every youth level, but his route to regular football may now lie elsewhere.”

Despite his great leadership skills at the B team he has not got any chances in the first team. This opens a door for questions about his future.

Player’s Viewpoint

Marc Casado has said many times that he loves to be at Barcelona. However, lack of game time could lure him to join other club. In a recent interview he has said, “I love this club—it’s been my home for years. But at some point, you have to play. Wherever that opportunity is, I’m ready.”

His statement tells us that although he loves Barca, but he understands that he wants game time at this stage of his career. In this moment, Barca may not be able to give him chances, and he would be open to move this summer.

Author’s Opinion

Marc Casado is a top and talented Defensive Midfielder from Spain. He is a graduate from Barcelona’s Academy – “LA MASIA”. Although he likes the club, he understands the need for first team opportunities. Given Barcelona’s Finances and their plans, Casado would not get much chances if he stays.

He is 20 years old, this is the time he would want to grow and develop by playing regular first team football. Therefore, he will be open to move to a new club that will guarantee him some game time he needs. Also Barca would get some financial help to balance their bills.

There is a huge possibility that he may join a German club. However, it would be interesting to see how this deal develops in the next days. Where will Marc Casado play next season? Will he stay at Barca? Can Casado develop into a Top Player in the future?
