Bayern Munich Get Nickolas Jackson on Loan from Chelsea

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have ended their summer transfer window after getting Nickolas Jackson on loan from Premier League club Chelsea. Chelsea have released some players from their roster this season. The Blues want a fresh start from this season onwards after winning the Club World Cup title. After signing Joao Pedro from Brighton earlier, the club informed Nickolas Jackson to seek a new club. After some delay, Bayern Munich wished to get him on loan. Chelsea accepted that offer at first but after the unfortunate injury of Liam Delap, the English club shockingly told Jackson to come back to the club. But, Jackson didn’t agree to accept that confusing offer. Finally, on the last day of this transfer window, Bayern Munich officially announced the loan move of Nickolas Jackson from the Stamford Bridge.

Unlucky Nickolas Jackson Lost His Place to New Chelsea Forwards

Nickolas Jackson first marked his name when he was playing for Villarreal during the 2022-23 season. The Senegal international scored 13 goals in 48 official matches for the Yellow Submarines. In the next season, a struggling Chelsea bought Nickolas Jackson from Villarreal on a permanent move. In his first season with the Blues, Jackson delivered quite well. He bagged 14 goals and 5 assists in the Premier League. In the last season also, Jackson scored 10 goals in 30 Premier League appearances. Chelsea were looking to build a team where Nickolas Jackson would become the target man. But things began to change after the appointment of Enzo Maresca. He didn’t keep his trust in Nickolas and started building his own project at the club. He put his faith into the academy graduates more and Chelsea luckily got Cole Palmer out of nowhere from Manchester City. Still, Jackson had a part in the team. But just before the start of the CWC, Maresca told the club to bring in some young and fresh forwards. Chelsea bought promising English striker Delap from Ipswich Town. But the underrated transfer of Joao Pedro changed the whole scenario completely. The Blues got the Brazilian as a backup option but his immediate impact in the Club World Cup shocked the management. Since joining Chelsea, Joao Pedro has been regularly scoring for the club. This made the club come to a decision to offload Nickolas Jackson from the team. But Jackson had signed a long-term contract with the club. So, Chelsea decided to loan him out anyway.

Is Nickolas Jackson a Good Fit at Bayern Munich?

Bayern Munich are not only the biggest in Germany but also one of the biggest football clubs in Europe for decades now. In recent times also, Bayern Munich have been maintaining their standards. But the German club is also facing a transitional period at this moment. Actually, the whole German football team is in transition. Homegrown legend Thomas Muller has finally left Bayern to join MLS. There are some new faces at the club already. After the departure of Lewandowski to Barcelona, Bayern Munich aren’t missing him a lot as they have Harry Kane as their target man. Leroy Sane has also joined Galatasaray this season. So the club had to sign a winger and a forward. Bayern Munich were negotiating with a lot of talented wingers and they finally got Luis Diaz from Liverpool this summer. But this loan arrival of Nickolas Jackson has created mixed reactions from the fans. Some believe he is going to be a decent backup option for the club if Kane gets sidelined somehow. On the other hand, some feel that this was an unnecessary addition by the club. Jackson’s form has fallen through a lot in these couple of months and he is very unlikely to perform consistently at Bayern Munich. But this is too early to judge. It is true that the player’s form has dipped a lot in recent times but this move can become a turning point in his career, too.
