Chelsea are making big moves in the transfer market ever since Todd Boehly took over. The Premier League side has spent more than £1 billion to recruit the top talents. Chelsea’s focus seems to sign young players and prepare for the future. Recently Chelsea completed the signing of brazilian youngster Estevao Willian.
Estevao Willian won’t be the first young Brazilian to arrive at Stamford Bridge in the recent years. Chelsea signed Deivid Washington and Angelo Gabriel who both are 19 years old. Before these two Santos FC products, the Blues signed Andrey Santos who is 20 years old. This business from Chelsea give us an idea how much the club adores brazilian talents.
Chelsea also need to get their financial books clean. The London club is on the verge of breaching profitability and sustainability rules. The last thing Chelsea want is to be found guilty and lose points next season. The club is reported to be focusing on selling their academy players so that they achieve pure profit.

However the former assistant of Guardiola has decided to continue his future at Stamford bridge. Chelsea have also signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer and have given him four year contract.
Fabrizio Romano about Chelsea signing Estevao Willian
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared an important update regarding Chelsea’s latest signing. While speaking with CaughtOffside the Italian journalist said one club tried to hijack Chelsea’s plans of signing Estevao Willian.
“We can consider Estevao a new Chelsea player, and its a generational talent joining the Blues. I can reveal that he was also wanted by others, with one club trying to hijack the move in recent days” – Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano about Chelsea’s latest signing.
According to Romano, Palmeiras could receive a total amount of £49 million after the sell of Estevao Willian.
Estevao Willian’s career and style of play
Estevao Willian joined Palmeiras youth team in 2021 and impressed everyone ever since his arrival. It was not long before he made his professional debut. On 7th december 2023, Willian became fourth youngest player to play for Palmeiras. He was 16 years and 8 months old at that time. On 24th April 2024, Estevao scores his first ever professional goal. This became his breakout season as the young winger put on a series of great performances attracting the top clubs from all over the world. Estevao has also appeared in 5 matches for Brazil’s under 17 team. He also has scored 3 goals for them.
On 22nd June Chelsea announced the signing of Estevao Willian. However the Brazilian winger cannot join Chelsea until he turns 18 years old. That means Blues will get hand on him next year. Many clubs were interested in earning the signature of Estevao. However Estevao had already made his mind to join Chelsea and also believes that he will be able to break in at the Premier League side a lot quicker than other clubs. It would be interesting to see how Estevao Willian will manage in his first season at Europe next year.
Chelsea building a team for future
It is very clear what the Blues are planning. A majority of players in the current squad are below the age of 25. With upcoming time and maturity, Chelsea could be very deadly as their already seem prepared for future. Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Reece James have already shown their worth and have achieved the place as regular starters for the club. If Maresca can pull up a good job, Chelsea’s future really seems very bright.
