Chelsea Finally Sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United

Manchester United

After long negotiations, Chelsea have finally signed Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United just before the deadline day. It was an open secret that Garnacho always preferred his move towards Chelsea since day one. But it was taking way too long to get the deal done. Manchester United also weren’t showing any serious urge of selling Garnacho. But Chelsea kept pushing for the deal and finally the Red Devils gave the green light on this transfer. Chelsea have already announced the arrival of their latest Argentine winger in some style. The Blues hope Garnacho will give them even better services than his spell at the Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho Finally Got What He Wanted

When Garnacho arrived at the youth system of Manchester United, everyone expected him to become the next big thing for Manchester United. Gradually, he developed his game and got his first team call-up ever in the 2021-22 season. Meanwhile, he was also captaining the reserve side of the club at that moment. The former Atletico Madrid academy product caught the eyes of the supporters with his speed and shooting range. Eventually, the young Argentine got his first ever senior level goal for Manchester United from an assist provided by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. In his 5 seasons at Manchester United, Alejandro Garnacho has taken part in 198 matches. He has officially registered 49 goals and 32 assists. His rapid improvement earned him his first international debut for Argentina in 2023. As of now, he has played 8 matches for the Argentine national team. Garnacho has delivered a lot for this club. He has cherished some iconic moments at the club. One of his best moments came when he scored an extraordinary bicycle kick against Everton. But things get trickier for him after the inclusion of Ruben Amorim last year. Amorim started benching him consequently. He even questioned Garnacho’s attitude off the field. From the beginning of this summer transfer window, Alejandro Garnacho informed the club about his desire of leaving the club. Although Manchester United accepted his request but never showed any proper kind of action regarding his move. After a lot of dilemmas, Alejandro Garnacho has finally signed for Chelsea this week.

Is Alejandro Garnacho Just a Backup Option for Chelsea?

Chelsea had both shortlisted Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons as their potential targets this summer. Chelsea were in an advantageous stage with the negotiations of Xavi Simons. But all of a sudden, Tottenham Hotspur joined the race and hijacked the deal. Just after the failed deal, Chelsea totally shifted their utmost focus to the Garnacho saga. Alejandro Garnacho had already rejected Napoli, AS Roma and clubs from Saudi. He remained patient for his dream move. After a series of twists, Manchester United finally agreed to let Alejandro Garnacho join Chelsea on a permanent deal this week. While Garnacho is very excited about his new journey at the Stamford Bridge, some fans are still doubtful about his impact. Garnacho’s attitude issue is also a thing of concern for Chelsea also. Chelsea board will not tolerate this most probably. While Mudryk’s future remains uncertain, Garnacho can become the long-term solution for Chelsea on the left flank. He surely brings a great deal of individual quality with him. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca also doesn’t doubt his technical capabilities.

Can Manchester United Live Without Alejandro Garnacho?

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim had already excluded Antony, Garnacho and Rasmus Hoijlund from his main team. Hoijlund has gone to Napoli for a season-long loan and Antony has finally signed for Real Betis on a permanent transfer. Even Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan. Garnacho remained the only bone of contention for the club management. Now, the Red Devils have a new front three in their attacking third. But the club is already out of the Carabao Cup. The front three hasn’t been able to deliver yet. After a hard-fought win over Burnley, Manchester United will face neighbours Manchester City next. The fans have already moved on from the Garnacho saga.
