Chelsea now looking to add reinforce the £33m midfielder to their squad

Chelsea are looking to reinforce Everton midfielder Amadou Onana to bolster their midfield options. According to TalkSPORT, Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Onana with Everton. However, the £33m midfielder might be on the list of some other elite clubs as well. The Blues were previously linked with the transfer of Amadou during the summer as well. This was before they overhauled their midfield during the summer for both present and future. They signed Lesley Ugochukwu and kept him in the squad showing their belief in him. Similarly, they got Romeo Lavia from Southampton. Though, he is yet to make an appearance for the Blues after picking up an injury shortly after his move.

Their most highlighted signing was Moises Caicedo. The club signed him for a record transfer fee from Brighton after lot of negotiations. If they were to bring in Onana too, there would be some who think he would be the best addition of the lot. Moreover, it has been claimed that Everton believe he is close to the potential of Caicedo. It shows he is ready for the top-tier level soon.

Many clubs will be looking forward to Goodison Park as a financial fireplace could take place. The Toffees are already penalised with a 10-point deduction for profit and sustainability rules breach. This will also concern Chelsea as they are also under the investigation for potential charges during Roman Abramovich’s era. Though, till now it seems that it has not any big effect on their transfer plans. The West London side is still linked with a transfer move for a striker in January transfer window.
