Along with Pochettino some of the star players too seem to be leaving the club. Thiago Silva has already received farewell. Conor Gallagher is linked with a move away. Chelsea to make Estevao Willian their first signing this season

Estevao Willian was born in 2007 in Franca city of Brazil. In 2017 he began his youth career at Cruzeiro. In 2021 he made his move to Palmeiras and has been there ever since. He made his professional debut in December 2023 and score his first goal in April 2024.

Recent report from Globo Esporte states that Palmeiras are working with Chelsea to complete the deal soon. However Willian won’t be able to join Chelsea until he is 18. But Chelsea are planning follow the route Madrid took for Endrick. Willian could make his Chelsea debut next year but until then can play in Brazil on a loan.

The release clause of Willian is £39 million. Chelsea are hoping to pay less money than that and have also made an initial offer. The Blues have made an offer of £30 million but have also included add-ons. As per Willian, he always wanted to play for Barcelona. However due to current financial crises Barca are having, they don’t even seem in picture. The other club currently interested is Bayern Munich. It is believed that they have contacted Willian and are planning to join race with Chelsea.

Estevao Willian’s style of Play

Willian has been huge admirer of Barca and their legend Lionel Messi. While in Cruzeiro he was called Messinho. Looking at his game it can be justified why he has got that nickname. Willian possesses an amazing dribbling ability. The Brazilian youngster seems to flow freely through defenders with the ball stuck to his feet. The most important dribbling asset of Willian is simple body feints which allows him to create space and move forward with great pace.

Willian is left footed and prefers to play on the wing from where he can dribble inside. Although he is not bad at all with his right foot and is also constantly working to improve both feet. Another aspect in which Willian needs improvement is physicality. He is 5’6″ and is not that great physically yet according to his coach. However it should be taken in consideration that Willian is just 17 now and it will improve in the upcoming days.

Willian likes to dribble with pace along with amazing trickery and cut inside from the wing to be infront of the goal. Once he is in middle or gets room he can shoot with high power. Estevao while speaking on his style of play mentioned that he is comfortable on the right side. He also stated that he likes to be in the middle from where he can control his direction. He continued that from there he can go to left or to right depending on where more free space is and attack from there.
