Four City stars could be making their way away from Etihad

Manchester City

Manchester City will approach the transfer window as Premier League champions for the fourth time in a row. Pep Guardiola is enjoying his time right now after the tremendous success he brought to Etihad. We can expect some key and big moves from City in an attempt to bring some new superstars. Guardiola is preparing to build a young team who is ready for the future. However there will also be some heart breaking departures which can cause disappointment within the fans. Currently four of the City stars are linked with a move away from Etihad. All of those names are regular starters for Guardiola and the Spaniard trusts them very much.

Already a City legend could be leaving Etihad this summer

In the transformation of Manchester City from mid table team to one of the best team one name which always come in mind is Kevin De Bruyne. De Bruyne arrived to City after his high quality spell for Wolfsburg in 2015. Ever since his arrival, the Belgian international has been one of the most important player for City. He is already considered as City legend and definately will be a Premier League legend in upcoming time. However, the 33 year old midfielder could be seen ending his career defining spell with City in the upcoming summer.

Kevin De Bruyne has made around 400 appearances for City. He has been unstoppable and has been one of the greatest attacking midfielder in the world. We can even probably say the greatest attacking midfielder of this generation. The Belgian international has scored 102 goals along with providing 170 assists. These stats are enough to show how important he has been for Guardiola. In his 9 years spell, De bruyne has won 6 Premier League titles and also finally got his hands on Champions League last year. That was first Champions League title in the history of City and City fans will forever be grateful to De Bruyne for that.

However City could lose De Bruyne in the upcoming transfer market as the Belgian superstar is impressed by what Saudi clubs are offering. Recently De bruyne said that he is thinking about his future. He added that he will like to move to Saudi to earn a lot of money.

“If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money” – De Bruyne on potential Saudi move.

This could hint us that he might be leaving City after a highly successful spell.

Ederson linked heavily with Saudi move

Ederson is one of the names that has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi. City goalkeeper is another star who had seven successful season at Etihad. However, there have been some very intersting offers from Saudi clubs. This could not cause as much problem for City as they already have Stefan Ortega ready to replace the Brazilian keeper. The German keeper started a decent amount of matches this season due to Ederson’s injury and has done an impressive job.

Two wingers linked with away move

Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish are also the names linked with away moves. Silva has been linked with away move for quite a numerous seasons now. However he has signed a contract extension last season and the release clause in that contract is set to £50 million according to Mirror. Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona are reported to be interested in Portugese international.

City signed Grealish from Aston Villa in 2021 for £100 million. He had been very important for City last year when they went on to win the treble. However he has not been able to stay consistent. Besides injuries, Grealish has not had proper focus which made Guardiola to often replace him with Jeremy Doku. Grealish has also not been called up by Gareth Southgate for Euros.

City would be monitoring a lot of attackers this summer. Currently the Premier League champions have their eyes on Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo.
