The future of Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho remains unsettled as Manchester United are now pursuing a possible swap deal for him. The player is still looking for a new club but no kind of approach has come yet. Garnacho has lost his place in this new Manchester United squad. Head coach Ruben Amorim has also informed the club that he does not need Garnacho in his team. Although the Argentine came to Carrington for the first week of training sessions, Manchester United have gone on the pre-season tour without him. Earlier this month, Italian club Napoli expressed their interest in buying Garnacho but the club changed their mind later on. Since Napoli’s approach, no other club has knocked on the door of Manchester United.
Garnacho Was Once a Fan Favourite
When Alejandro Garnacho arrived at Old Trafford, many were hopeful about him. Garnacho also didn’t take much time to adjust himself to the team. Under Erik Ten Hag’s coaching, Garnacho flourished a lot. Alejandro Garnacho was an academy player at Atletico Madrid. But in 2020, Manchester United scouts brought him from the Atletico Madrid youth team. Year by year, Garnacho gradually improved his game and finally got into the senior team back in 2022. Considered a next-gen Red Devil, Garnacho became the fan favourite in no time. In his very first season in the senior division, Garnacho scored 5 goals in 29 matches. His fast ball control and individual skills were eye-catching. At that time, many were thinking that Manchester United’s worry about the wing would finally end. As of now, Garnacho has represented the Red Devils 144 times. In these 144 matches, he has registered 26 goals and 22 assists. But good times are rare these days in the Manchester United camp. After the arrival of Ruben Amorim, Garnacho has significantly failed to deliver throughout the season. Moreover, Garnacho was warned by the club for his disciplinary issues. Now, the short-lived honeymoon between Garnacho and Manchester United is over.
Manchester United’s Summer Transfer Window
Manchester United must hurry in releasing the Argentine international. The club has done a pretty good job so far in the transfer market. The club has successfully brought in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo. They have also been able to send Marcus Rashford on a season-long loan deal to Barcelona. But Amorim needs another proper box striker in his team. Manchester United are going strong after Benjamin Sesko. The fans also believe that Sesko’s inclusion is very much needed in the squad. But Manchester United are aware that this deal is going to be another challenging task. As Alexander Isak wants to join Liverpool, Newcastle United want to land Sesko by hook or by crook. The club from Manchester have shortlisted other names too. On the other hand, Amorim has probably agreed to go for another goalkeeper. In shocking news, Italian custodian Gianluigi Donnarumma is heavily linked with the Premier League club.
Author’s Note: Manchester United’s Plan with Garnacho
Manchester United will sign another striker before the start of the season. The club has already initiated primary talks with Nicolas Jackson and Ollie Watkins. Reports claim that Chelsea want a minimum of £80 million for the African attacker. Interestingly, Chelsea had enquired about Garnacho in the past. In case of Watkins, the Aston Villa striker still wants to join Manchester United. But Manchester United’s latest interest in Sesko has made it kind of difficult for the player. Now, Manchester United have discovered a unique solution to this problem. The Red Devils now want to offload Alejandro Garnacho in a swap deal. Manchester United have made contact with both Chelsea and Aston Villa for a swap deal of Garnacho. As it stands, Manchester United’s story with Alejandro Garnacho will go on for another two or three weeks.
