Gyokeres or Guirassy? Arsenal hunt for a new striker

The Gunners are targeting a new goalscorer as Arteta wants to pair a forward with Havertz up top. The Spaniard does not trust Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus is inconsistent. Arsenal have approached Sporting Lisbon’s main man Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede bagged 43 goals and provided 14 assists in just 50 appearances in his debut season at Lisbon. He is a strong and physical forward, he has noteworthy stamina, pace and finishing. If the latest reports are to be believed, he would cost Arsenal around £80m approximately. The youngster has a release clause of £85m, whoever buys him will need to pay a hefty price for him. Arteta adores the young sensation and would love the prospect of coaching him. The coaching staff at North London see him as a massive improvement in their attacking department. Now it will depend on the player and club to craft a deal with Lisbon.

£15m striker to leave Stuttgart: Arsenal ready to pounce on Gyokeres alternative

In Arsenal, coaching staff see Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy as an alternative to Viktor Gyokeres. He will be way cheaper than Gyokeres, the 28-year old has a release clause of £15m. The Guinean scored 30 goals in 30 appearances for Stuttgart last season and finished the season as one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe last season. The German club is trying everything possible to prevent him leaving and sign a new contract but it seems the striker has made up his mind. Arsenal have other competitors for his signature too, but they are leading as they are in the Champions league. Stuttgart has qualified for the Champions league this season, therefore the 28-year old will join another Champions league club. Arsenal have a good record with players who join them from Bundesliga, fans are excited!

Guirassy has been likened to German legend Mario Gomez for his playing style and called “incredible” by teammate Chris Fuhrich. Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea are also linked with the Guinean striker. Borrusia Dortmund are also running behind him or his signature. The 28-year old is number one priority for Arsenal if they find Gyokeres unfeasible. Arteta will be pumped if he gets both Gyokeres and Guirassy in his team. The Gunners are also heavily interested in Spanish star Mikel Merino. Arteta’s side begin their preseason friendlies from 28th July against rivals Manchester United. The Spaniard will be hopeful of signing Gyokeres, Guirassy and other transfer targets by August first week. Addition of phenomenal goalscorers like Viktor Gyokeres and Serhou Guirassy will give Arsenal a massive boost in their title charge.
