Jadon Sancho could be returning back to Man Utd ?

Manchester United

Chelsea will have to take decision on signing of Jadon Sancho on permanent basis from Man Utd.

Chelsea’s take on Jadon Sancho situation

Jadon Sancho arrived at the Stamford Bridge on loan in summer transfer window last year. The deal included an option to buy for a fee of £25 million.

The England international didn’t had the impact everyone expected that he’ll make at Manchester United. He joined the Red Devils in a £73 million transfer from German side Borussia Dortmund.

He returned to the Bundesliga club on a loan after he had some internal issues with Erik ten Hag. The striker was included in the Utd squad before the 2024-25 season. However, he was regularly linked with other clubs during that period. Eventually, he went to Chelsea on loan.

The forward was having a great start in the beginning of the campaign for the Blues. Although, he has been struggling to make the most of his talent in the recent weeks.

Penalty clause in Jadon’s deal

The Sancho’s loan deal includes an option that can make his move to permanent transfer. That will only happen if the London side finishes above 14th place in the Premier League this season. However, they can choose to bail on this deal. But, they can do so with a £5 million penalty.

There are mixed rumours on Chelsea’s decision on Sancho’s transfer. As per The Sun, the Blues’ board are planning to pay the penalty fee.

The west London club are also linked with another Dortmund talent Jamie Gittens. They are looking for possible replacements for Jadon and Mykhailo Mudryk in the summer transfer window.

The Blues are also said to be tracking Ipswich Town’s forward Liam Delap. Reportedly, they are currently leading the race to get his signature this June. Delap is also linked with several other Premier League clubs.
