KARUN NAIR AT ENGLISH COUNTY CONTEST

Karun Nair is now all set to mark his presence for the English county squad, Northamptonshire. He will be playing the last three matches of the County Championship.

As per the reports, Karun Nair arrived for the championship on September 8 in the UK. In addition, Karun Nair will replace Sam Whiteman in the team, who will be returning to Australia. The second Indian batsman to score a triple hundred in Test Cricket has failed to make his mark for Indian cricket.

However, the Jodhpur-born cricketer has had a remarkable career in domestic cricket, scoring 5922 runs in 85 first-class matches. He expressed his pleasure to join Northamptonshire and further said he can hopefully make an impact on the team by his presence.

Karun Nair was quoted by India Today stating

“I’m really looking forward to joining Northamptonshire and getting to play in the County Championship. You hear a lot about county cricket, and I know Prithvi [Shaw] really enjoyed his time with the team, so it’s exciting to have the opportunity to be involved too. Hopefully, I can make an impact on the team while I’m there, that’s the main thing for me. It’s about doing as much as I can to help the team get some wins in these last three games”

Moreover, Northamptonshire team head coach, John Sadler stated

“It’s great that we’ve been able to secure Karun to come over for the remainder of the season, he’s really keen to get going, he’s a high-class batter who’s scored something like 11,000 runs in his career and his first-class numbers are particularly special”
