Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Greek International Kostas Tsimikas will sign a new contract at Liverpool this week.

Romano shared an update on his Twitter/X Account about the full-back. He stated that talks are in progress between both the player and club. He said :-

“Liverpool are now advancing in talks to extend Kostas Tsimikas’ contract.

Current Premier League Standings

“Negotiations are progressing to get it done as soon as possible.

“Discussions will continue to complete the agreement, as James Pearce called.”

Good news for all the supporters as Kostas Tsimikas has been a great professional since the joining the club back in 2020. Reds signed the full-back from Dutch outfit Willem II as a backup for Scottish International Andy Robertson.

On some occassions, Tsimikas surpassed the Scot as he often made a claim for his spot in the squad. Hence, Reds now plan to extend his contract as the 27-year-old is in club’s future plans.

However, Liverpool were monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion fullback Pervis Estupinan. The Equadorian International is Klopp’s radar as he is someone the German might consider getting in future.

After Mohamed Salah’s interest from Saudi, Reds now plan their position against selling any of their players soon. Therefore, they plan to keep Tsimikas further at the club by extending his contract soon.

Liverpool have only bought midfielders this summer as they look to change momentum for the team in this campaign. Defence looks like area of concern for Reds and that’s why Kostas Tsimikas will be kept at the club for the future development.
