Arne Slot is set to join Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp parting ways with the Reds after 9 years at Anfield. Liverpool and Feyenoord just have one final fixture remain before the curtain is drawn on this season. Arne Slot’s appointment will be made official then.
As is the case most of the times, coaching staff often changes with change in management. Klopp’s departure will see up to 7 current coaching staff departing from Liverpool. At the same time, Slot will be bringing familiar faces from Feyenoord alongside him to Anfield.
Who will join Slot at Liverpool?
Arne Slot was to be joined by Etienne Reijnen and Ruben Peeters at Liverpool. Now, Sipke Hulshoff is also reportedly set to join the trio. Etienne Reijnen and Sipke Hulshoff are Assistant Managers at Feyenoord. Ruben Peeters is the Performance Manager of the Dutch Side.
Hulshoff will be replacing Pep Lijnders at Liverpool as Assistant Manager. Reports suggested that Slot selected Hulshoff because of his familiarity with Dutch players in the Liverpool side.
Sipke Hulshoff also works with Ronald Koeman as the Assistant manager of Netherlands. However, with Hulshoff expected to take Liverpool job, he will be leaving Netherlands National Football Team. He will also not be accompanying The Oranje at the EURO 2024 in Germany.
Wave of changes at Anfield: A Transition!
Jurgen Klopp’s departure is definitely the end of an era at Liverpool. The Reds will see numerous changes, not just in their playing XI but also the management of the club.
Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Adrian are expected to leave Liverpool for free after the end of their contracts. Up to 7 coaching staff members will also be leaving Anfield!
With a new era dawning on Liverpool under Arne Slot, fans will be hoping that The Reds continue to assert their dominance in the top four and win lots of trophies. However, such major changes could take a little while to be managed and worked upon.
