Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal has invited some unwanted backlash from the Madridistas for defending Lamine Yamal. Yamal, the new sensation of Barcelona, has become the face of controversies. The 18-year-old Spanish winger is one of the best footballers in the world right now. Be it celebrating his 18th birthday or taking a dig at Cristiano Ronaldo himself before the final, Yamal loves to provoke the media. But there is no doubt about his God Gifted talent. Recently, the media asked Dani Carvajal to comment on Yamal’s career so far. The veteran Spanish full-back didn’t go for an off the pitch ‘El Clasico’, though.
What did Carvajal Say about Lamine Yamal?
The footballers have now joined their respective national camps for participating in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Spain has called up both Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal. The Real Madrid and Barcelona players will play together again since the EURO final. While asked about Yamal, Dani Carvajal warmly spoke about his fellow countryman. As a matter of fact, Yamal played a crucial role in winning all the El Classicos against Real Madrid last season. Keeping that in mind, Carvajal didn’t say any negative things about the wonderkid. “The boy is making changes in his game for the better by leaps and bounds. We enjoyed it in the national team. He is very young and leads a club like Barcelona“– said the Real Madrid captain. The Barca channels have embraced the kind words of the veteran. But hardcore Real Madrid supporters turned furious. Real Madrid supporters are infamous for keeping their love for Real Madrid more than the Spanish national team. If an away footballer gets applause from the Madridistas while playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, that means something special. The raw and passionate Real Madrid supporters don’t care while booing Barcelona players at the national camp. As expected, the fans are fuming after hearing the warm praise of a Barcelona player coming from their captain.
Yamal Hoping to Shine Again in El Clasico
History keeps repeating itself. Whenever Real Madrid have brought in some best players around the globe together, Barcelona somehow always finds a special player to keep up with the Los Blancos. During the iconic Galactico era of Real Madrid, Ronaldinho stunned Real Madrid quite a few times. Then, people witnessed both Cristiano Ronaldo and Leonel Messi sharing the pitch for 10 years against each other. A new era has come again at both these clubs. Real Madrid finally got Kylian Mbappe last year. While they were supposed to dominate the domestic league, Barcelona shattered those dreams completely. A 17-year-old Yamal came out of the syllabus in those El Clasicos last season. This time, Real Madrid have found the perfect balance in their squad and Lamine Yamal has grown more individually. After registering 18 goals and 25 assists last season, Lamine Yamal hopes for a much better performance this time.
Dani Carvajal is the Sole Representative of the Three Peat Real Madrid
Dani Carvajal, who is considered one of the greatest right-backs in football, is a pure academy graduate from La Fabrica, the Real Madrid academy. After the back-to-back departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Carvajal is now the only active member of that scary Real Madrid side which created history by winning the UEFA Champions League three times in a row. But last season wasn’t good for the 33-year-old right-back. Carvajal suffered a serious ACL injury and returned during the FIFA Club World Cup in June. Like Yamal, Carvajal also wants to make his mark in the upcoming El Clasicos. Although the 15-time European champions have bought Trent-Alexander Arnold from Liverpool, Carvajal still is very important to this Real Madrid squad.
