Manchester United believe that they can finally sort it out with Jadon Sancho. The club want to sell Sancho in this transfer window. The talks with Italian heavyweights Juventus are in advanced stages at this moment. The English attacking midfielder also wants to leave Manchester United as he believes his playing style doesn’t suit the English Premier League. The situation has taken a very interesting stage where both the player and the club are desperate to part ways. Jadon Sancho’s possibility of joining the Old Lady has been going on for a month now. Finally, Manchester United feel that the deal may happen within days.
An Overhyped Flop Transfer from Manchester United
When Manchester United bought Jadon Sancho from German club Borussia Dortmund, fans around the globe considered this move to be game-changing. The former Manchester City youth academy player joined Manchester United from Dortmund back in 2021. Before signing for the Red Devils, Sancho was the most discussed English wonderkid. Jadon Sancho joined the academy of Manchester City from his childhood club Watford. Borussia Dortmund are famous for scouting the special talents at a very early stage. There was no exception in Sancho’s case too. The German club roped in Sancho in 2017. In that very year, Sancho went to India with the U-17 England team for the U-17 FIFA World Cup. Although Borussia Dortmund let him go only for the group stage matches, it was enough for young Sancho to showcase his brilliance in front of the world. After spending 4 seasons with the German side, Sancho signed for Manchester United with dreams in his eyes. Football pundits believed that Sancho was destined to shine in the deep red colours. But the reality shows the opposite. Since joining Manchester United, Sancho has only registered 12 goals and 6 assists in 83 matches. There are no second thoughts in claiming that Jadon Sancho has miserably flopped as a Manchester United footballer.
Sancho Was Truly Sensational in Germany
Jadon Sancho was truly sensational during his Dortmund days. His magnificent vision and pinpoint through balls were a treat to watch. Being an attacking midfielder, Sancho often put his name on the scoresheet. In the 2018-19 season, Sancho registered 13 goals in 43 matches. He delivered another stellar season with the BVB. In the 2019-20 season, he bagged 19 goals in all competitions. By combining these two back-to-back seasons, the wide winger provided 40 assists. Then, Sancho again returned to Signal Iduna Park on loan back in the 2023-24 season. Once again, he was amazing. Just when everyone thought that Sancho had regained his natural form, Jadon Sancho proved them all wrong.
Juventus Are Still in the Race Despite German Interest
After coming back from Dortmund, Jadon Sancho was sent to Chelsea on loan again. This time, his actions went against him. New manager Ruben Amorim made it clear to Sancho that he has no place in this new Manchester United team. Even in his loan spell at the Blues, Sancho failed to find a place in the regular first eleven. Overall, he appeared 41 times for Chelsea but managed to score only 5 goals. Enzo Maresca was also not a big fan of the 25-year-old attacker. While Manchester United tried their best to keep Sancho in Chelsea for one more season, the FIFA Club World Cup champions didn’t entertain that. While Sancho joined the practice sessions at Carrington, Manchester United were sure of selling him out permanently. In the meantime, Juventus came into the picture. The Bianconeri have been in touch with Sancho’s camp for weeks now. Reports claim that both clubs have come to an agreement also. If Juventus prioritize the deal more, Sancho is going to be the next English international after Lloyd Kelly.
Author’s Note: Should Sancho Go for Another Reunion?
Juventus have a competitor in their race. All of a sudden, Borussia Dortmund have once again expressed their desire to bring back their old lad Jadon Sancho. New sources can confirm that Sancho is also open to join the club for the third time. The ball is in Juventus’s court. Manchester United’s sole priority is to sell the footballer. If Borussia Dortmund agree to pay the Red Devils around €20 million for Sancho, Manchester United will happily sell him.
