Villa while preparing for europe next season are linked with some top talents. Marcos Acuna is reported to be on verge of becoming new Aston Villa player. Along with signings Aston Villa also need to get their records clean and avoid breaching profitability and sustainability rules.
Acuna has been linked with a move to Villa many times over the past year. Villa were interested to sign him last summer window but unfortunately the deal failed. But Villa again went for him in January but failed again. Now ahead of 2024/25 season Villa are again linked with Acuna but this time the deal may finally end successfully. Aston Villa are reported to have made a bid for Argentine and the sporting director of Sevilla is already looking for potential replacement.
Acuna set to join Villa soon
Aston Villa have made a €15 million bid for 32 year old full back. Acuna revealed that the last attempts of him joining the english side failed due to personal issues between Villa’s managing director and Sevilla president. The full back then commenting about the future said that he has a contract with Sevilla until 2025 but anything can happen. The most important thing Acuna thinks right now is focus on the remaining games and give his best for both club and country.
Villa’s managing director Monchi and Unai Emery are both very interested in Acuna. Reports from Spain are that Argentina full back is finally on his way to join Villa. Aston Villa could be seen closing in on the deal in upcoming days.
Marcos Acuna plays primarily as left back but is equally effective playing forward as left midfielder. Along with his pace and physique it makes him a hight quality full back who can track back to defend and move forward to attack. Acuna is a regular starter for both club and country. He was also an important member of Argentina when they won 2022 world cup. Acuna also has experience playing in top leagues having made 21 appearances in UEFA Champions League. For Sevilla he has managed to score 6 times along with assisting 11 times.
Acuna has a contract with Sevilla until 2025. He will be entering his last year as Sevilla player unless the club decides to sell him or sign a new contract with him. The current market value of Acuna is €5 million according to Transfermarkt. The €15 million offer from Villa for Acuna can be considered highly from Sevilla as it would be beneficial for both parties.
Who else are Villa interested in
Mario Hermoso is reported to become the first signing of Villa this transfer window. The spanish defender is highly linked with Villa. Ross Barkley who played for Aston Villa as a loanee from Chelsea is reported to receive a permanant offer from Villa. Barkey has impressed Villa scouts with his time at Luton town this season and club is highly considering to go for him.
Villa are also interested in signing Adrien Rabiot who is set to become a free agent. The frenchman seems to run out of Juventus contract and has not yet signed a new contract. Manchester United are also interested in signing Rabiot.
Aston Villa are also planning to make moves for Ronald Araujo. However Barcelona could not be interested to sell their main man in defense. Villa can also go for Denzel Dumfries who is currently crowned champion of Italy with Inter.
