Red Alert: Mbuemo Edges Closer to Join Manchester United

Manchester United

Manchester United’s hunt for Brentford forward Bryan Mbuemo has finally reached ‘End Game’. The player only wanted to join Manchester United. But the deal was taking too much time. At one moment, Manchester United fans lost hope on this deal. But latest reports suggest that Mbuemo is just one step away from donning the Manchester United jersey. To be more precise, the deal can make him the new Manchester United player within the next week. Fans are delighted over the news. They are eagerly waiting for the official confirmation from the club.

Mbuemo to Manchester United: A Long Saga

Manchester United wanted Mbuemo long before their interest in Matheus Cunha. Manchester United have signed Cunha. The team has begun their pre-season also. But Mbuemo is still not a Manchester United player. This whole transfer saga has tested the patience of the supporters. But the Red Devils didn’t back off from the deal. The chances of cracking this deal were getting low when Brentford rejected a third official bid from Manchester United. It was clear that the Bees were reluctant to lose their top goalscorer. But Manchester United were sure of getting the deal done from day one. Although there were no updates regarding the development of this deal for some days, Manchester United were working on another bid. Now, the fresh news claims that Brentford have finally given the green signal to this deal. Mbuemo can finally achieve his dream of playing for Manchester United. Even after the rejection of the third bid, Fabrizio Romano hinted that Manchester United weren’t done with the deal. Now, Manchester United are on the verge of going with the upfront of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo.

Is Cunha-Mbuemo Duo Enough for Manchester United?

Manchester United need goal scorers. Once full of world-class forwards, Manchester United’s most vulnerable section is now the attacking third. Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s switch to Al Nassr, Manchester United do not have proper strikers in their squad. They have signed players but all of them haven’t met the expectations. Even in the last season, Manchester United missed chances after chances. Rasmus Hoijlund was a big disappointment. Zirkzee were looking at first but he has also failed to deliver for the Red Devils. Manchester United’s Portuguese captain Bruno Fernandes saved this team multiple times this season. Bruno Fernandes, the midfielder, became the top scorer for Amorim’s team last season. Bruno netted 19 times for Manchester United. Meanwhile, Amorim got frustrated with Marcus Rashford’s poor performance. Eventually, Manchester United had to loan him out to Aston Villa. Although this loan came as a redemption for Rashford, Manchester United’s crisis in scoring only worsened. So, this time Ruben Amorim has to rely much on Matheus Cunha and Mbuemo. Cunha scored 15 goals in 33 matches for Wolves. Whereas, Mbuemo was the ‘main man’ for Brentford. Mbuemo bagged 20 goals in 38 Premier League matches. It is clear that Man United’s season will depend vastly on this attacking duo.

Do the Devils Have Other Options?

At this point, Manchester United aren’t talking with any other forwards. After Brentford’s rejection of the third bid, Manchester United were exploring other names, too. Ollie Watkins was one of the names. Talks were progressing positively also. But recent developments on the Mbuemo saga have taken over Watkins’s possibility. But there is another twist in the story. Nicolas Jackson is ready to leave Chelsea after 2 years. It came as a shock to the fans that Manchester United are a possible destination for the Chelsea flop. But even if the ‘unwanted’ deal happens, Jackson isn’t going to replace a player like Mbuemo.

Author’s Note

If everything goes well this time, Mbuemo is joining Manchester United this week. Fans are expecting every single day that the club will announce the Cameroon international. While other clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have already confirmed some big signings, Manchester United have only announced Matheus Cunha. The club has to bring in utility footballers in other positions also. The transfer of Mbuemo is going to give new hope to the club from Manchester for sure. It is now or never for Manchester United.
