Ruben Amorim is backed by Ratcliffe

Manchester United

Reports suggest Man Utd & Sir Jim Ratcliffe have settled on terms with Ruben Amorim. That is a move that’s raised more eyebrows than excitement.

A new era that’s yet to lift off

When Amorim accepted the position as manager at Man United, there was genuine optimism that the club had found a tactical genius. The club thought he could return it to former glory, but now found it not to be so.

Man Utd’s decline has been staggering. From fighting around the top for titles to hovering in the middle of tables for results. Falling to Grimsby Town, a League Two squad, in the Carabao Cup serves as another sign of the team’s current poor state.

Supporters who were initially with the coach Amorim are now slowly starting to lose their patience. His preference for a three-man defense has confused players and disrupted rhythm. The system that worked wonders at Sporting CP hasn’t clicked in England’s high-intensity game.

The team appears to be uncertain and the outcomes are really bad. The weight of the pressure increases more and more each week. However, the Man Utd management still firmly believes that he is the one to do the job.

Ratcliffe has full trust in Ruben Amorim

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s public backing of Amorim is as bold as it is baffling. The billionaire co-owner believes the Portuguese manager deserves three full seasons to turn things around. That is a level of patience rarely seen in modern football.

Many pundits see this as blind loyalty rather than long-term planning. The PL doesn’t wait, and history shows clubs that stall often pay the price.

Author’s Opinion:

Man Utd’s decision to stand by Amorim feels more like hope than strategy. He has got some ideas for sure but if the players are not able to execute them, ideas do not win points. If he does not found the way of adapting quickly, this might become a new expensive trial at Old Trafford.
