West Ham United finished the premier league season on 9th position. It was also the last season of David Moyes with the hammers. The club has recently announced that Julen Lopetegui as their new head coach. Along with change in management the hammers are looking forward to make some key signing in the upcoming transfer window. Fabricio Bruno could become the first player this transfer window to join West Ham United.
Few details about Fabricio Bruno
Bruno plays as centre back. He can play on both right and left side of the centre defense. He started his youth career at Cruzeiro in 2015. Due to his strong performances he earned his place in senior team shortly in 2016. In senior team too Bruno was magnificent at the back providing solid defense. Bruno caught eyes of all major clubs in Brazil and now West Ham through his performances.
The most impactful spell he had was when he moved to Flamengo in 2022. Over this two years the brazilian international had made 113 appearances across all competitions for the club. He has also been called by national team having made 2 appearances for them. Both club and national team fans have appreciated Bruno for his solid defensive work.
Bruno is very passionate along with his good technique and timing. The 28 year old defender reads the game very well to help his side in proving strong. Bruno is not afraid to make hard tackles and restrict the opponents. His tackles and interceptions have made him beast in defense. He also is very calm and mature on the piece. How close are West Ham to Bruno
Flamengo have reported to have accepted the bid made by West Ham. The Hammers have made an offer of £12.7 million for the defender. According to Mundo Rubro Negro, West Ham will pay Flamengo in three installments over the year. Flamengo have demanded far more than the market value of Bruno hence the hammers have gone along with this way. Lopetegui didn’t have any say in this signing but it was club’s decesion. Scouting of Bruno was done by West Ham board during an international fixture between Brazil and England. Bruno started the match and played whole game. Brazil defeated England in Wembley and also were able to keep a clean sheet.
Bruno will travel to London after Flamengo’s upcoming fixture regarding his potential move. It would be Bruno’s first time playing in European league. The signing of 28 year old mature defender will surely help hammers to strengthen their defense. West Ham are set to offer Bruno a five year deal.
Begining of new era under Lopetegui
David Moyes achieved huge success in his spell with Hammers. The club even went on to win UEFA Conference League last season under his guidance. However due to poor last season the club has parted ways with Moyes. West Ham have now confirmed signing of Lopetegui but the fans don’t seem to be happy with this decesion. Despite the disappointment among the fans, the spanish manager can make them change their mind with his tactical skills. Lopetegui has already showed his worth when he was at Sevilla. Sevilla became UEFA Europa League winners after defeating mighty Inter Milan in the final in 2020.
