IPL 2021: MI Vs PBKS Post Match Analysis

Mumbai Indians(MI) kept their chance of playoffs by beating Punjab Kings(PBKS). PBKS lost their composure when Pandya and Pollard stood and played as per the situation and won by six wickets. Now, in order to qualify- Punjab will have to win all the left matches.

It was a desperate battle for both teams and as a result, it was an entertaining match. It was an uncertain game for Kl Rahul as he’s trying his best for PBKS, although Punjab Kings seemed in good momentum. But failed to win again as it’s the same winning strategy for MI every year since MI don’t get tired of giving heart attacks to their fans. And Punjab Kings(PBKS) have started to do the same, while Kl Rahul is still on the race of scoring the highest runs. There is still an opportunity for Kl Rahul to become orange cap holder but only if they survive for the next matches.

Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by 6 Wickets and secured their chances for playoffs. In order to qualify for playoffs- PBKS need to win the rest of its consecutive matches.

Mumbai Indians chose to field after winning the toss. PBKS lost it’s top order and failed to score a par target for the Mumbai Paltan. Hence MI won the match too with the help of Tiwari, Hardik, Pollard.

Punjab was losing wickets at regular intervals but Markram and Hooda made sure they reach a respectable total. Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar took 1 wicket each. Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard took 2 wickets each. Punjab was restricted to 136-6 in their full quota of 20 overs.

Mumbai Indian’s top order also failed miserably today. Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya gave themselves time and laid the foundation for the win. Tiwary made a useful 45 runs.

Hardik was superb today as it was a crucial inning for him. He made 40* runs and Kieron Pollard 15* as they won the match for MI. Mohammad Shami and Nathan Ellis took 1 wicket each and Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets.
