United Send Scouts To Watch Christian Eriksen

Manchester United were one of the teams that sent scouts to watch Christian Eriksen in Denmark’s game against Australia on Monday night. The Danes took on Ralf Ragnick’s Austria and beat the courtesy of goals by Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Jens Larsen. Eriksen was the one who laid the assist for the latter.

Manchester United will be looking for creativity in the middle. They have already seen the exit of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. Erik Ten Hag will be looking for midfielders who can break down defences.

Christian Eriksen was the victim of a horrific cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 clash with  Finland. He had to leave Inter Milan after his recovery because  Italian regulations do not allow someone to play with a defibrillator. But newly-promoted Brentford showed faith in his ability and signed Eriksen on a 6-month deal. The playmaker was a success for the Bees: they lost only 2 out of the 8 games in which he started.

Now, Eriksen is back on the radar of the big boys. Former club Tottenham Hotspur are also in the race. Eriksen played for 7 years at White Hart Lane, and also under their current manager Antonio Conte.  The pair won the Scudetto at Milan.

How Does Eriksen Fit At United?

Christian Eriksen at his peak was one of the finest playmakers in the league. 52 goals and 66 assists for Spurs tell you all you need to know about him.

He often drifts wide, and delivers balls from half-spaces. This can be vital to creating chances against deep defences. With an elite poacher like Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad, a formidable partnership can be formed.

Manchester United should be all over this transfer. He is a free agent and can slot right into the team. He can share creative duties with Bruno Fernandes and reduce the burden on the Portuguese. Eriksen to United has the potential to be a perfect transfer.
