Eddie Howe wants Sandro Tonali succeed at Newcastle United as the midfielder as the manager talked about his new signing.

The Italian midfielder joined from Italian giants AC Milan this summer for a fee of £70 million. Newcastle brought him as they return Champions League football this season.

Tonali was rated highly at Milan as he helped them to win the Scudetto in 2021-22 campaign after a long wait of 11 years. However, he started his life at St. James Park with a goal on his debut.

Eddie Howe is happy Tonali’s progress this season. The manager was asked about his players in a press-conference on Friday. He said :-

“I want him to be himself, which is an outstanding technician, a very good athlete. For me, he can play all of the positions in midfield. But we need to give him time.

“I don’t think we can judge him, or any signings, within a month. Let’s take our time and be patient, because I know the quality of the player that we have.”

Tonali is rated highly by his current managers as the Italian international looks to make a big impact at Premier League. However, Newcastle United have made huge statement by signing him this summer.

Many top players have taken time to adapt to English top-flight as Tonali will take time showcase his real form in future. Eddie Howe looks confident of his new signing to maintain his team’s good run form in this current campaign.
