Former footballer and pundit Jermaine Pennant suggests that Liverpool are now ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League Title race.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Pennant backs Liverpool to win any battle against the North-London club. Reds have started their new campaign on a high note as they’ve won 3 out of 4 fixtures in the Premier League.
However, Arsenal are also having the same points tally as Liverpool currently. Mikel Arteta’s side earned an incredible victory against Manchester United last week.
Former Gunners Jermaine Pennant is highly impressed with Liverpool’s form in this campaign. He applauded their performance and said :-
“I think so [Liverpool should be mounting a title challenge], if you look at the team and the way they’re playing. Who else is around them who should be challenging?” asked the 38-year-old.
“At the moment I would say Liverpool are in a better place than Arsenal. In the games that they’ve played, they look better than Arsenal right now. 100%.
“That’s not me being biased, I think at the moment Arteta’s still tweaking, he doesn’t know what’s best, trying to fit everyone in the team, you see that in performances like against Fulham.
“We’ll write Man United off because they’re all over the shop at the moment. But I think Liverpool playing Arsenal, Liverpool would be the favourites going into that game.”
After a complete rebuild this summer, Manager Jurgen Klopp is all charged up to charge his club’s fortune in this current campaign.
Liverpool look to change their fortunes after horrific campaign last term. However, they still have challenges of their own to overcome.
