Liverpool FC are the favourites to sign Manu Koné from Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer. The 22 year old performed impressively at Gladbach, which was enough to attract interest from clubs across Europe. It is also reported that Premier League sides Aston Villa and Wolves are also in the race to sign Koné. However, it looks like the Reds are now going to beat them in this race.
According to Liverpool.com, the Reds have also been informed about Koné’s price tag in the past few days. It is understood that they would have to pay an amount between $38m and $43m to secure a transfer for the Frenchman this summer.
Liverpool are in need of a midfield rebuild. As they saw three experienced midfielders, Naby Keita, Oxlade Chamberlain and the great James Milner leave this summer, it’s pretty clear that there is a big need to have new signings in the midfield this summer. With them having already secured the signing of Alexis Mac Alister, the Reds are aiming to sign a few other players as well.
Along with Manu Koné, Khéphren Thuram is also a priority target for Liverpool this summer. It is believed that Jürgen Klopp has already thought about the specified roles for both Koné and Thuram.
