Newcastle trio set to miss the big clash with Manchester City due to injury

Newcastle United

The head coach of Newcastle Eddie Howe said he has no new injury concerns heading into the evening Premier League clash at Manchester City. Newcastle were compelled to play against Aston Villa Emil Krafth(knee), Joe Willock(hamstring), and Javier Manquillo(groin). These players were ruled out because of injury. However, they will still be out as the trio is set to miss their clash against the Premier League Champions.

It seems pretty difficult for Willock to return until after the September international break, while Krafth is still continuing his 12-month-long recovery from an ACL injury. He is expected to be out for almost a month before he is available for the training. Meanwhile, Matt Ritchie, Mark Gillespie, Loris Karius, Paul Dummett, and Lewis Miley are expected to again miss out on the matchday squad after doing so against Villa last week.

The fact that terrifies Howe and her players is that they have never won at the Etihad in Premier League history.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe motivates his team before the big clash. He said,” We want our players to go there with all the positive emotions that our first game of this season should bring.” Furthermore, “We’re looking at this game as an opportunity for us to be at our best.”

“We have to concentrate on Manchester City’s strengths and have to try and stop those. Our players also have to believe in ourselves. We want to become a top team, consistently, in the Premier League. I think to do that we should have a clear identity ourselves and try to implement that on other teams. I want a positive mindset, not just for the supporters, but for the players, let’s see what we can do.”

Newcastle prepare themselves for one of the toughest opponents:

It seems like Howe and Co. are optimistic before their clash against the biggest Premier League shark right now. But the question is, Will they stop the unstoppable force of Manchester City? It will be clear very soon anyway. The thing is that competing against a very well-structured team like Manchester City can be tricky. As for Newcastle, they remain without Emil Krafth and Joe Willock, with Joe picking up an injury during the pre-session.
