Former Gunners Theo Walcott claims he is huge fan of Arsenal Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after being dropped to bench against Everton on Sunday.

New signing David Raya was given his first start in the Premier League this season. However Arsenal won the game 1:0 against Everton with help of Leandro Trossard’s goal in the 70th minute.

Meanwhile speaking on Sky Sports, Walcott backs Ramsdale after yesterday’s snub against Everton. He has been one of the finest performer under Mikel Arteta for last couple of seasons.

Former Arsenal man praised the goalkeeper and said :-

“Just to echo what the guys say, I think it’s a really interesting point about the fixture pile-up.

“I’m a big fan of Aaron, I really am.“I think you’ve got to look at it in the England perspective as well. I’d worry as well, he played in the week for England, very confident. He’d have come back to Arsenal and thought ‘Yeah, this is me’ then he’s been hit with this news.

“It will be very interesting to see how he reacts to this as well because he’s obviously had to deal with a couple of relegations but this is very different. He’s at an elite team, with the number one he’s got on that shirt there. Now he’s got a keeper that’s challenging him.”

Theo Walcott also believes the fact Ramsdale will take this positively and work hard on his game more. Manager Mikel Arteta already claimed that he will rotate both the goalkeepers to the win Premier League.

However with this approach, players might become frustrated due to lack of game-time.
