Man United confirmed that Erik ten Hag will stay at the club as the manager of the club. The decision was made after a review at the end of the season of his position.
The news was shocking that Man United manager Erik ten Hag has been retained for his position at the club even after having a bad season and Ineos was all set to sack him after his performance at the club but they could not because there no other manager that was ready to take the job.
Before the FA cup final, the decision that made by the board was to sack the Dutchman and relieve him from all his duties at the club. The decision made based on the performance the team gave all season as they finished eight in the league. But the victory against Man City at Wembley and wining at least a trophy was enough for the board member to get convince that Ten Hag should continue for at least one more season.
Man United agreed to let Ten Hag stay at the club and let him try to change the team’s performance
Man United were thinking to replace Ten Hag with the Ipswich Town’s manager Kieran Mckenna but the manager signed the new deal and he also told the red devils that he is ready to handle a club this big.
Other then Kieran Mckenna there were other managers that were in contention Gareth Southgate, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter were all the possibilities that United had in mind to replace the Dutch manager. But none of them stood out and unable to reach any agreement, and the dutchman wining the FA cup helped him to get another season to show the board that he is the right man for the job and try to turn the United back into title contention.
Well him staying at the club is being welcome by almost everyone in the squad considering that he was nice to everyone specially at the end of the season.
Some United players are not happy with Ten Hag being manager of the club for another season
But there are some players who may not be happy to see the dutchman staying at the club for at least one more season. The players are not angry with the manager because of their personal reasons instead they are angry because of the game time given by him to the players last season and they even think that this can happen again this year, considering that almost all players are staying at the club. Future of Jadon sancho is still unknown but there are reports that says he might stay at dortmund for one more season on loan.
But if the loan deal does not goes through then he might be coming back at united. The relationship of the player with the dutchman looks impossible to repair at this point as he is still angry with the manager and does not want to play under him, so there is possibility that he might look for an exit form the club in any way whether on a loan deal or a permanent deal.
Other than Jadon Sancho, Amad Diallo is another player how is not happy with his coach. Last season he given more games than Antony at the end of the season but this might not happen this season as he things the manager will prefer Antony over him specially if the brazilian gets his form back, which was seem that he lost it last year. The manager will give more time to Antony as he has better experience and quality and it is a matter of time.
