£45m Star Ready to Agree Contract to Join Liverpool – Journalist

Liverpool is facing the potential departure of key players and, as a result, remains heavily linked with Southampton star and Belgian international, Romeo Lavia. The Reds are aware of the urgency to secure his signature before it’s too late.

The midfield has already seen the departures of Milner, Keita, and Oxlade-Chamberlain, as their contracts expired last month. The situation is compounded by the rumors surrounding senior regular starters Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson, who are being sought after in Saudi Arabia.

Amidst these circumstances, Liverpool is actively pursuing Lavia’s acquisition in the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old is going to leave Southampton, even after their relegation. And he is eager to agree to a contract with the Merseyside club.

Sacha Tavolieri reports that Liverpool firmly believes Lavia would be an exceptional signing. And they are prioritizing the resolution of Henderson’s future before proceeding with the move. The young midfielder has already spoken to Jurgen Klopp. And he has expressed his desire to play for Liverpool, making the negotiation of personal terms a non-issue.

Lavia will be a good addition to Liverpool squad

While Fabinho has been a standout defensive midfielder for Liverpool, turning 30 in October. And he is coming off an average season which has risen concerns about his long-term suitability. Henderson, on the other hand, has been effective when deployed as a No. 6 over the years, but his age suggests the need for a replacement in the near future.

Lavia, despite his lack of experience, has earned high praise from Premier League clubs. And he is going to command a fee of around £45m, according to The Mail. Ideally, Liverpool should not undergo a complete midfield overhaul heading into the new season, as it would require time for the new players to settle. Therefore, retaining at least two of the three most experienced midfielders, such as Thiago, Henderson, and Fabinho, would be wise this summer.
