Despite Marcus Rashford being one of Manchester United’s fan favorites, the 26-year-old was receiving hate for his recent form. Rashford has managed to score only 7 goals in 31 appearances in the Premier League. The academy player has always been significant to United’s squad, however, in recent times, finding the back of the net has been difficult for him. Moreover, his brilliant performance last season gave everyone high expectations from the academy star. Last season, Rashford had 17 goals and five assists to his name in 35 league appearances. The Manchester United forward is currently facing an injury struggle that took place in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City. The 26-year-old was also out against Burnley. However, he is expected to return soon.
Rashford retaliates on X after receiving hate comments
After getting several hate comments due to his recent form, Rashford replied to a tweet that read: “The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting. It’s cruel. It’s abuse.”
Rashford wrote: “I appreciate your support! It is abuse and it has been for months. Enough is enough.”
The United player was upset with the criticism and hasn’t been happy at Old Trafford for a while. Despite this, Rashford’s form is not the worst on the pitch for Manchester United. Antony has only one goal and one assist to his name in 27 appearances in the Premier League. The Red Devils have lost their chance of securing a Champions League spot for next season. However, they have the opportunity of winning the FA Cup trophy this season after a close win in the semi-finals. Although defeating Manchester City won’t be easy, Manchester United cannot be underestimated. Erik Ten Hag could win silverware this season despite his team having a-not so-great season.
