Manchester United are already working on transfers for the summer window

Manchester United

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe taking over a minority stake in Manchester United, several changes are set to take place. Everton’s defender, Jarrad Branthwaite has been on the Red Devils’ list for a long time. According to sources, the 21-year-old is a top target for Manchester United. Moreover, Everton will be looking to sell some of their key players to relieve themselves of the financial struggles. Branthwaite will be a great transfer considering Manchester United’s poor defense. Although the defender is having a good time at Goodison Park, a move to Old Trafford could be great for him. Additionally, the 21-year-old got his first senior England call up this season.

Can Branthwaite help resolve Manchester United’s defensive problems?

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is Erik Ten Hag’s top target for the upcoming transfer window. His defensive skills along with his left-footedness will help United’s defense. The 21-year-old has been one of the best defenders this season in the Premier League. Moreover, the Everton manager, Sean Dyche, has been impressed with Branthwaite’s performance. As a result, getting the 21-year-old will be a difficult task for Manchester United.

While speaking about Branthwaite’s future, Sean Dyche said,

“We don’t want to sell any good players. It’s as simple as that and he’s proven to be a very good player. We’re not in the business of trying to sell players.”

“You only sell players if you have to sell players or there’s a problem. There’s no problem, therefore I’m just hoping we don’t need to sell players.”

-added the Everton manager.

However, selling a star player will help relieve Everton of their financial issues. The Toffees already had to face a point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules. Therefore, there is uncertainty about Branthwaite’s future now, however, a move to Old Trafford could be beneficial to both clubs.
