Journalist Ben Jacobs gives his verdict on what he knows about Arsenal going for a striker this winter. Ben has got some bad news for the Arsenal fans though.

The Gunners have recently found themselves ‘out of form‘ again. Consequently, they are now trailing behind Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City in the title race. It reflects the same problem that they went through last season and calls for a new no.9 in the squad.

Ivan Toney was the main man they were wishing to bring into the side. However, reports suggest that the Englishman is not available for sale.

Now, it is said that Arsenal have turned their attention towards Getafe’s striker, Borja Mayoral.

Speaking on  FIVE YouTube show, Ben Jacobs said,

I’ve got bad news for you and Arsenal fans on that front. There’s no truth in the bid for Borja Mayoral of Getafe. And, Arsenal may not bring in a striker. It’s funny as so many clubs are quiet, so a lot of the answers in this window are things are a bit boring. If they could get Toney, they’d try and get him but the challenge with Toney, much like Victor Osimhen, he’s one clubs are going to have to wait for.”

The links with Borja was met disdain anyway. However, it is a bad news for the Arsenal fans that “they may not be getting a new striker this month“. It may be a cause of worry because they might not have a chance to take the title. Moreover, the move of Kai Havertz has not gone as per the plans while Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are unable to prove themselves as a goal-scoring threat.
