After Caicedo conundrum, Former Reds backs Liverpool to sign Lavia

Romeo Lavia

After Moises Caicedo’s transfer dilema, Former Reds Harry Redknapp suggests that Liverpool should sign Romeo Lavia this summer.

After Klopp announcing Caicedo’s arrival in today’s press-conference, the Equadorian now decides to join Chelsea as both the parties have agreed personal terms back in May. Brighton & Hove Albion also agreed the transfer as Reds submitted a bid of £111m.

The 21-year-old midfielder has reportedly told the Mersyside club that he wants to join Chelsea this summer. However, Liverpool still have Romeo Lavia under their radar as they’re in a urgent need of new No 6 in their squad.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Podcast, Former Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp suggests Liverpool should again for Romeo Lavia in this transfer window. He said :-

“I think it makes it interesting for Southampton now. For them they will be going ‘ok you want Romeo Lavia, you have to pay top dollar for him now’. They’ll be on the phone to them now saying ‘no you were always our first choice’. But it’s been proven he wasn’t. They will have to go back in from that perspective. Lavia is a player I really do like, but when you go in that strong for a player you have to be sure you’ll get him.”

It completely makes sense if Liverpool signs Romeo Lavia instead of Caicedo this summer. Reds have already made multiple bids but none of them matched Southampton’s valuation.

In last 24 hrs, there have been a huge adrenaline rush among Liverpool supporters. Caicedo was just moments away from joining club, but everything has changed now.
