Barcelona gives Ronald Koeman El Clasico ultimatum

According to several reports, Barcelona has given Ronald Koeman El Clasico an ultimatum to save his job for this season. It is well known by everyone what is happening around Barcelona and in what immense pressure Koeman is. The Dutchman has failed to give any successful result in recent weeks and fans have already posting Koeman out.

The Catalans currently sit last in the Champions League group E after losing two of their fixtures. The opening match was against Bayern Munich at home which had a scoreline of 3-0 favouring the German giants. While the second match also had a 3-0 scoreline with Benfica easily getting past Barcelona. Following which the Catalans have 0 points in two matches, with -6 in goal difference.

In La Liga, Barcelona sits 9th in the league table collecting 12 points in their last 7 matches. While their first defeat this season came in the last fixture against Atletico Madrid with a 2-0 scoreline. Following this, you can see what a downfall it has been for Barcelona and what pressure Koeman is dealing with.

After the Bayern fixture, the club reportedly had given a three-match ultimatum to Koeman to save his job. While in the meantime there were links with different managers for taking up the job. However, despite poor results in those fixtures, Koeman is continuing at Barcelona.

While when Joan Laporta was asked about Koeman’s situation he said the club trusts him and keeping patience with the transition. The Dutchman has to show some positive results in the El Clasico fixture this month on 24th October. If he fails against Real Madrid then the club might decide otherwise.
