ESPN pundit Steve Nicol is surprised by a Tottenham Hotspur signing. Nicol was baffled by Radu Dragusin’s switch to Tottenham. The Romanian is probably the first man in the transfer saga for the North London club. Although he was attracting interests from clubs like Bayern Munich, he ultimately moved to Spurs. The club was in contact with Genoa man since December. However, when everything was looking set the Germans came into the scenario. Despite this, the defender obaid is words with Tottenham and signed the contract.
Radu became the second signing after Timo Werner for COYS. However, Nicol believes that he should have went for the Bavarians over them. He said,
“I would suggest it would be easier for him to get in the Bayern team because Upamecano has been having a torrid last 12 months, maybe even 18 months. Even then, you’ve got to go to Bayern, because you know they’re going to be competing for the Champions League. And you’re probably going to win the league. I don’t get that, I’d absolutely go to Bayern Munich over Spurs.”
The fans will hope this signing to be as inspiring as Micky Van De Ven. Though, he may have to be patient for a starting spot. The duo of Micky and Cristian Romero is pretty solid at the back. However, that you have also spent a considerable time on the sidelines. The 21-year old Romania international just needs to be patient and wait for his opportunity. He is also very young and has a lot of time to push for the best of his career.
